We Swarmed Across Dry 
Land Seeking Food And Safety;





We Were Unaware Of Pain And Death
We Were Easy Prey Back Then


Spewed Eggs Everywhere
While Still in Amphibian Stage
Just Like Fish,
Voracious And Insatiable,


We Were Always Growing 

Stronger, Faster, Smarter,


We Were ASEXUAL...


We Were Ubiquitous;

IN THE MUD

Flourished In Massive Packs

Practicing Scorched Earth Already

While Gleaning The Ground Of Food;

Omnivorous; Voracious, Insatiable;

Cannibalistic, Our Meat 

Was No Different Than 

Any Other That We Ate,

Developed Community 

Safety in Numbers,

Friends Are Fun,

Hearing And Smell Developing,

Staying Clean, Watched Over

Each Other While We Slept;

Scurried Down Hastily Dug

Burrows When Under Attack, 

Dispersed And Scattered,

SURVIVORS

Became MAMMALS

Spewing Babies Everywhere,

After Splitting Off At the Rib,

Shell Dissipates Into Hair,


By the Time The Burrow Becomes A Den
We are Becoming Formidable,
Defending Ourselves with Greater 
Numbers Attacking Predators
 With Vicious Efficiency;


Our Broods Are Noticeably Smaller,
Gestation Period Lengthening,

Territoriality Evolves As Need For Home Increases;


We Fed Anything That 

Was Bigger Than Us,
And Ate Everything Smaller...

IN THE DEN...

Hearing, Smell And Sight 

Becoming Fine-Tuned,

Becoming Intelligent;

Began to Associate Warning

Sounds with Subsequent Attacks,

Protected Each Others Kids

Life Becomes Precious...

Smaller And Smaller Litters, 

Longer And Longer Gestation Times;

Den Clusters Increases Comfort 

Of Community-Minded Individuals,

We Are Sharers; 

Tending to Favor Meat...

Voracious, Insatiable

Fortifying;

Cannibalized Sick 

And Injured 

And Dead;

Dens Littered With Bones

Single Occupancy Only 

We Merely Bumped In The Night; 

Driven By Survival
Every Human For Themselves, 
Survival Of The Fittest, 

Began Reaching For Food, 

Climbing Trees, Escaping 
Earth For Days; 

While Predators 
Invaded Our Dens
Ate Our Families And Our Friends;

We Just Kept Moving

Upward And Onward
Inland To The Forests;

Faster, Smarter, 
Stronger, Bigger, 
Ever Fortifying;

Broke Our Hearts 
To Leave Our Dens
Search For Home Continues...
